Booking an appointment for Behavioral Therapy

Parent Interview:

If at all possible, the initial interview is with both parents and without the child being present. During this appointment all relevant information and concerns are discussed openly and a comprehensive case and medical history is compiled. If the child is listening to this conversation it may influence their perception of the coaching process in a negative way.  It is also important that clear, firm and consistent boundaries are established on the child's first visit.
This enables the therapist to break old patterns of inappropriate behavior and non compliance. It is essential that the child has a positive first experience and wants to return to behavior coaching.

School Observation (if required):

The second appointment is usually a visit to the child's school to conduct a behavior observation in the school environment. It is important that the observation takes place before I meet the child so that my presence does not affect their behavior during the observation. At the same time, I also interview teachers and take notes on class dynamics. The teacher should feel fully supported and the intervention should benefit all the children in the class. A copy of the intervention plan is given to parents, family, teachers, assistants, and everyone that is involved with the child to ensure consistency.

Individual sessions:

In the one to one sessions we deal with behavior issues, self-awareness, self-esteem, social skills, language delays, and basic academic skills etc. These sessions are 45 minutes in duration. If required and the schedule allows, an additional slot may be offered in the week.

During the initial appointment, we will discuss your current health concerns in detail. You will also be asked a series of questions to get a full medical and health background. It is important that information on diseases and concerns that are common in the family (both parents) are also provided. The treatment will be discussed and explained in detail. Additional information is available on the website.

You will be asked about your lifestyle e.g. dietary and exercise habits, level of water and supplement intake, and any other information that is relevant to the case. This information is useful in developing a clearer picture of the treatment required.

You will also be asked about any other therapies or treatments that you may be following (e.g., yoga, acupuncture, massage, meditation, etc.). You will be required to provide details regarding any herbal or chemical (allopathic) medication you are taking. This information is used to determine any potential side effects, interactions and nutrient depletion.

During the consultation, you will also be instructed on how to prepare a timeline(refer to the homeopathy page) of the traumas in your life. This timeline is required for your treatment and must be completed and brought with to the following consultation.

If more convenient, consultations may also be conducted by phone or Skype.
